Cochrane's 2017 Impact Factor announced: 6.754

Cochrane Oral Health is delighted to announce Cochrane's official impact factor (IF) for 2017.

The annual IF is an international measure of the impact research journals have in their respective field, and is the ratio of citations in a single year to total number of citable publications from each journal in the preceding 2 years (e.g. citations in 2017 resulting from publications in 2015 and 2016).

All Cochrane Review Group (CRG) publications are assessed singularly under the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) within the Medicine, General & Internal category.

The 2017 Impact Factor for the CDSR has increased by 7% to 6.754 (1,764 publications cited 11,914 times), consequently, the CDSR now ranks 12th of the 154 journals in the Medicine, General & Internal category.

To put Cochrane's 2017 IF of 6.754 in context, the aggregate IF for the Medicine, General & Internal category of the Journal Citation Reports is 4.656 (which accounts for the total journal citations, and the total number of citable publications from all journals, in the category).

More information on the CDSR's 2017 IF can be found here.
